Confirmation of various timeouts on GB3OA

To avoid confusion, the relevant web pages (Repeater Details and Internet Linking) have been changed to specify the various timeouts on OA.

They are:

  • RF to RF – five minutes (the errant PTT has to be opened to reset the timer)
  • IRLP and Echolink – four minutes, and disconnection of the distant end

Echolink will also specify an error code if the txm is more than four minutes – a link to all OA error codes can be found on the Internet Linking page.

THE STREAM: this is now fully up to spec again and running normally. It can easily be listened to throughout the world by going to http://shoutcast.com and searching for GB3OA.

The Stream returns on-line

Apologies to all world-wide Stream and Shoutcast.com listeners for the lengthy delay in resolving what turned out to be several complicated problems. Daily these were worked on with seemingly more confusing and complicated answers. Now, a brand new hi-spec server is being used and the faults reduced to an acceptable level for the moment. There will be tweaking going on over the immediate  future and so there will be short periods of downtime.

Streaming of GB3OA audio continues worldwide

Just a reminder that The Stream, which is routed to shoutcast.com, continues to run without problem.

There are two ways to access it worldwide – by going to http://shoutcast.com and searching for GB3OA

or by opening VLC media player, then OPEN NETWORK STREAM in the menu of the player and enter:

http://184.154.43.106:8080

A timely Festive Season greeting starts the stream at present.

Latest details on RAYNET use of GB3OA on 31st August

Specifics have now been finalised for the Rotary Walk between North Liverpool and Southport on 31st August 2014 when RAYNET will have exclusive use of GB3OA.

The times of RAYNET’s use will now be 08.30 BST until at least 16.00 BST (07.30 UTC till 15.00 UTC).

As before, IRLP and Echolink interlinking will not be available between these times, but the Shoutcast stream will not be affected.
